The Right Marketing Message Puts You at The Right Place & Right Time
The ladies in front of me are focused. Digging hard, searching.
It’s laughable, they are standing in a pile of broken dreams.
And I am picking up whole ones and putting them in my pockets.
I’m ankle deep in the tide, picking up the seashells left from last night’s rainstorm. They get swept in and buried right at the tide’s edge. There’s a little bump in the sand where they are safe and waiting for me.
These ladies though, they are hell bent and finding something in piles of seashell chips that the waves break up and toss onto the sand.
We are two feet from each other. They are two feet from success, and I am two feet from disappointment. Not too far, is it?
Some would tell them to look longer, harder. Not to give up! Keep at it . . . you’re almost there! Did I miss any cliches?
I spent many years in sales working longer, harder, not giving up, keeping at it. And every now and then a whole beautiful seashell would show up on my spot of sand.
Then I learned to go where my people are, with a message that speaks to them. That whole right time, right place thing.
Roberta, I can’t stand around and wait for the right place, right time. Got stuff to do!
I hear ya. That’s what marketing is for. Your stories are your right message to the right client. Like my seashells, your right marketing message waits for the right person to come along, then grabs them up.
